ISCLOSURE: I am NOT a doctor or healthcare professional. I am; however, under the care of a doctor who recommended I read the book, “Why We Get Fat and What to do About it” and heed its advice. My doctor also eats this way, as does his family. I believe it is important to be under the care of a physician when you make any changes that will affect your health, especially if you are on any medications. That said, please seek a professional who understands and agrees with this way of eating if you want to see significant, natural, and positive advances in your health.
I’ve been asked countless times to explain what I’m eating to lose weight so quickly and effortlessly. People want to know how my blood pressure and cholesterol have gone down when I’m eating butter, bacon, eggs, and mayonnaise, but not working out. My short answer has been: “Read the book, “Why We Get Fat and What to do About it” by Gary Taubes.“
WHY?
BECAUSE THAT’S WHAT I DID.
Here’s the thing: I’ve found out that it’s not enough to read the book, people need to be told what to eat, and I get it. I swear to you I get it. When you don’t know how jacked up your metabolism is, eating a certain way isn’t as important as it is when you know that your endocrine and vascular systems are effed. I’m also fortunate enough to have a doctor who hasn’t allowed himself to be bullied by “modern medicine” which really should be coined “modern surveys skewed based on pride that the masses take as gospel” – read the book, you’ll understand. My doctor has been vital to my success, and I recommend you find a doctor who also understands simple physiology and low carb eating.
Before I tell you what I eat, I think it’s important that you see how far I’ve come in a short 5 months. The gal on the left was wearing size 18 jeans that were too small. She was probably closer to a 20 or 22. She couldn’t get off the weight loss/gain roller coaster, she worked out 3-5 times a week, she “ate clean”, her blood pressure was elevated, her cholesterol was high, she had painful joints, and she was chronically fatigued, at 244lbs. The gal on the right is down to a size 14 and hasn’t done one minute of cardio. She also hasn’t gone hungry or had to count calories or fat grams. She is always full, no longer feels brain fog, is pain-free, her blood pressure is down, her cholesterol is down, and her blood sugars are finally regulating, at 205lbs.
